GE was launching a new business, Distributed Power, whose various engines provide power where and when its needed, often off the established grid. GE commissioned us to produce a series of videos that highlighted customer success stories that would show the depth and breadth of Distributed Power offerings and showcase some of their valued customers.
This series of seven videos featured GE employees acting as host for each individual segment. The employees were chosen from a competition. Then those employees would be deployed to the various sites. Customers were diverse from a tomato grower in California to a hospital system in London to a pig farm in Singapore to power producers in the Andes Mountains and Africa, to name a few. For each story, it was important to bring out the human, emotional connection of the end-user as part of the business story. The GE host would interview key customers, as well as take the viewer on a first-hand journey of the region.
Large, complex, global projects fit squarely in our wheelhouse. Add a tight timeframe and MVG was ready to take on the challenge, passports in hand. Locations would be around the world, in some off the beaten places. Visas, customs documents, and carnets had to be acquired in a matter of days. Since the calendar was tight, multiple crews were fanned out at once, while a consistent look and feel to the series had to be established and adhered to.
