DEEP FOCUS

Strategic Design

In our work, “design” means many things. Design is strategic thinking that crafts process, describes visual aesthetics, and delivers message. Design can inspire, enlighten, and transform the way an idea is communicated, while maximizing impact on an audience. Design is a path to creative problem solving and a methodology to tackle the communication challenges that our clients present to us every day.

Design thinking is about analyzing a problem for the many opportunities it can present. Whether approaching a video production, interactive media project, or print challenge, we use design to stretch our creativity towards what is possible. This thinking is both “out of the box” idea generation, and strategic building of a customized solution that hits its mark. This thinking, this process of design, drives our work.

To that end, we are excited about the addition of Michael Neff to our team as Design Director. His experience with advertising, media design, and original idea generation aligns with our dedication to creative discipline. It is part of our commitment to leveraging the best talent for solving our client's needs.

In the gallery below you'll see some of our recent work. Each project presented our team with design challenges. What is wonderful to see is the variety of solutions that were applied to these challenges. You'll see an animated piece designed for the World of Coca-Cola as part of the 125 year celebration of the brand. There is a marketing film for Raytheon's radar capabilities, an executive communication video for GE Energy, and a commercial for Indiana Live! Casino in Indianapolis. Each project started with a unique challenge, and required a strategic design for its messaging, tone, language, look, and feel. The results? Let us know what you think.

BREAKDOWN

MVG Faces

MICHAEL NEFF Design Director
Develops concepts, builds creative treatments, paints pictures. Has imaginary tattoo on right bicep that reads DORK. Likes to make "art stuff." Collection of stringed instruments includes the devil's bass (it has 666 in its serial number and is stamped with the date "Aug. 6 '66"). Lists life in general as a pet peeve. Keeps Shimson Bichler's "Capital as Power" unread on his Kindle and feels smarter just knowing it's there. Can't live without big black boots. Relates to Bruce Willis character in "12 Monkeys" because he keeps going back in time looking for something, but doesn't know what it is.
What I Like Best About MVG: "Smart people working hard who are still able to laugh about it."

Ann Brandt

RICH ROGINSKI Production Manager
Manages productions, small and large. Makes life easier for clients, directors, producers... everyone but himself. Winner of lifetime achievement award for drama at Amsterdam High School. (Not to be confused with achieving a lifetime of drama, which is a separate accomplishment.) Favorite song is "If I Could Turn Back Time," favorite movies include "Moonstruck;" was predictably kicked out of a Cher concert for being too enthusiastic. Passions include cooking, wine, theater. Can't remember what life was like before his Kindle. Still waiting for Broadway producer to call with role that will unleash his inner diva on an appreciative if undeserving public.
What I Like Best About MVG: "The people and the projects."

JULIE SHIELDS Office Manager – Atlanta
Assists, manages, and supports just about everything and everyone. Loves to prowl stores for the perfect item at the perfect price. Has been asked by many friends and coworkers to be their personal shopper. Can't stand sleeping in an unmade bed. Has been told she looks like Taylor Swift. Still trying to make it past the first few chapters of "Eat, Pray, Love." Strongly relates to Rebecca Bloomwood, lead character in "Confessions of a Shopaholic." Would make stop signs pink if she ruled the world. Scar on neck from thyroid removal hasn't made a dent in overall cuteness. Did we mention she likes to shop?
What I Like Best About MVG: "Working with really creative people."
